Meet the Studio
"Material Immaterial Studio is built on the basic principles of the bare beauty of materials. We are minimalist; the approach has always been to leave out rather than what to put in. This reduction process is what takes us through a mirror, emerging out on the other side to discover the richness and the sense of release that comes from allowing space to be unencumbered by visual distractions."

A miniature factory
I purchased the factory to sit on a bookshelf, alongside other intriguing bits and pieces I've collected over the years. The factory fits right in, not too big, not too small. It's well built with lots of interesting detail, and watching the balls move through the factory is mesmerising. To give an idea of size, the balls are actual ball bearings, so they are very small, although I think it's just right. The main reason I was hesitant to purchase was the price. I'm in Australia so $USD with international shipping fees on top did push the price up, but to me it's well worth it. A well crafted piece that will have a home in my office for years to come.
Can't stop marveling!
The Factory is one of the coolest things I've come across, and the countless people who can't resist it on my desk agree! Crazy level of tiny detail, not to mention awesome design and a marvel of engineering. Every time I look at it I notice something new. Every angle is fascinating. Very highly recommended.
Helps Calm Your Nerves !
When I was a child I loved to setup a large dominos track on the kitchen table. I enjoyed how it would fall on it's own; I watched with amazement. Years later, I still find interactive artwork soothing and relaxing to watch. "The Factory" provides this same sensation.. A solid piece (heavy) but compact, with incredible details. A conversation piece for sure. I just love knowing it there for all to enjoy.
Extremely High Quality
I am very interested in Brutalistic architecture and this piece just spoke to me. The marble-run component of it didn't really attract me, but it still is very elegant and gives your eye a reason to follow all the details. Arrived very well packaged, with no chips, cracks, or pits. The sculpture is very smooth, with a satisfying weight. The bottom has about 1/8" of corkboard so it doesn't scratch up any surface it rests on. The dimensions are listed on the site but just be aware what that translates to in reality. I could imagine some people expecting an expensive concrete sculpture to be substantial in size, and being disappointed when this arrives.
