Béton Brut Technique
The concrete dial featured in the The concrete dial featured in the Sector Watch Collection by 22STUDIO is created through a "béton brut" technique. In architecture, this technique refers to casting concrete at once—completing the work as soon as the mold is opened to fully display the raw material's sheer beauty. The intricate, three-dimensional grooves cut into the dial indicate the passage of time. The concrete grid rises slightly in the 22nd minute, echoing the 22STUDIO brand.
Meet the Studio
"In 2005, my wife Yiting Cheng, and I founded 22STUDIO to satisfy our enthusiasm for concrete's raw, exposed beauty. Inspired by the works of Japanese architect Tadao Ando, we wanted to create personal products that transmitted the material's honesty and transparency."
